Colleagues and friends pay tribute to Suzanne Prud'homme


On February 19, 2010 colleagues and friends met to pay tribute and wish a beautiful retirement to Suzanne Prud'homme administrative assistant of the Grand Loge

 

First Collective Agreement between members of Local Lodge 712
and CPS Industries

After fifteen months of negotiation, the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace workers, Local Lodge 712, District 11 signed on February 12, 2010 a first collective agreement with CPS industries. The agreement which has occurred between the employer and the trade union was accepted at 71% by the members.  We spent the time necessary for negotiating well and, even in such a difficult economic context, we made considerable gains for our members.

“We’ve answered the call by our federal government to dig deep and contribute generously to the plight of this poverty-stricken nation as a result of this disaster,” said IAMAW Canadian General Vice President Dave Ritchie. “This is the poorest nation in the western hemisphere and it’s already had an unfair share of suffering and as an international organization we’re doing our part to ease that suffering with this donation.”
