Tribute to Gilles Blouin

Gilles Blouin was an activist at Local Lodge 1148 for the last 20 years. The collective agreement could have been named « the book of Gilles » since he as been a member in the last seven (7) negotiation committee.

He as occupied many positions at the Executive Board to finally become President of the Local and Shop Committee President. Position that he should have occupied before the last mandate, but gave a lot of place to the other members and always gave his support to members that worked hard.

The members of the Local Lodge will always remember Gilles Blouin a man always available, there is never a bad time to call on him for a favor also his sense of loyalty and integrity and is big heart. The good of the Local Lodge was always is priority over is own interest.

Thank you Gilles, for all that you have given to the Local Lodge and to the union mouvement.

Enjoy your retirement well deserved.

For the next members to fill the position of Gilles, they will find that it is big shoes to fill..

Many Local Lodges officers affiliated to District 11, personal friends and family gathered at the Challenger golf course in St-Laurent to
show their gratitude and affection through these many years of unionism that Jean-Léo gave.

The theme of this event was a roast. The organizers' of this event were Claude Boisvert and Alain Rouleau Business representatives of District 11.

Many guests came to the podium to tell stories on Jean-Léo. The guests laugh at some untold. Jean-Léo came at the end of the event and with is phenomenal memory told some stories on the speakers that came before him.

The District 11 presented to Jean-Léo a beautiful cellar also the guests have brought bottles of wine.

We wish him a good retirement well deserved, and to enjoy life with is family.

On June 20 2006 the members of Local Lodge1660 honoured retirees by presenting them a watch with the effigy of the Local Lodge.

The retirees appreciated the gesture of the members of the Local Lodge.

It is important to stay in contact and appreciate the retired members. It is these people that fought battles so that the young people coming on the working market would have decent working condition.

Congratulations to the Local Lodge1660 for their initiative.
