ITS SHAMEFUL There is not one month that passes that we are witness of a closing of n enterprise caused, not by financial difficulties but by the voracity of making more profits. Goldbrand (Clothing), Crocs (sandals),
Cari-All, Petromont, and now Flextronics.
All those companies have thrown to the streets thousands of workers just to satisfy the share holders. Let us not be indifferent of the treatment of are brothers and sisters are getting. Lets go and support Visits from other unions are always appreciated, and they feel less lonely in times of difficulty. Its little gesture that make others feel better and also to us. We would like in particular the ask the support of unions near by Flextronics (Air Canada, Bombardier, etc.), to come and show their solidarity to those workers. LETS SHOW ARE SUPPORT AND SOLIDARITY TO TO THE BROTHERS AND SISTERS AND LETS GO MEET THEM FOR A FEW MINUTES AT THAT RALLY. At the May 3 walk, nearly 50 000 personnes went in the streets to show there attachement to our public health care.
We should remember that the liberal government used the Chaoulli ruling, to start the privatisation of our health care.
We have to stop the bill 33 project that would permit to transfers to private clinics 54 type of surgery.
June 9 will mark the 3 years of the Chaoulli ruling. Lets show that the May 3 walk wasn't for nothing and that we are determined to preserve our public health care.

Underlined in more than a 100 Countries in the world, the national Day of mourning for victims of Professional injuries, as for first objectif to remember are brothers and sisters dead following a working accident or health problems related to work.
At the occasion of April 28, a leaflet will be available for distribution in he working places. Contact you regional Councils starting in mid-April.
In 2007 in Québec, 207 persons died following professional injuries. Once again, Québec as an enviable place in this field.
The QFL spreads numbers to make aware the population and also to denounce the lack of prevention in many working places in the last 10 years, approximately 2000 brothers and sisters died in working places, they simply wanted to earn their living.

Many members of the QFL because of lock-outs or permanent closing of plants. We try to support as most of possible those fights.
Certain Local Lodges organize rallies the alert the public opinion and to bring to the attention to our goverments. Here are some rallies that we invite you to participate in the next days:
1. Pétro-Canada (SCEP-175) : Lock-out since 4 months. Rally Monday March 17 at 6am, entrance of the plant, Sherbrooke street East, near the 8th avenue.
2. Pétromont (SCEP-7Q & 162) :Closing of two plants of Pétromont (Montreal and Varennes). Rally Thursday March 20 at 11:30am, in front of the Delta Hotel (corner of Saint-Jacques and University) to meet with the minister Bachand who will speak to the Montreal Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce.
3. Cari-All (Métallos-7625) : Closing of the plant in Pointe-aux-trembles. Rally Thursday March 20 at 1pm, in front of la Caisse de dépôt et de placement du Québec at 1000, place Jean-Paul-Riopelle (between Viger Ouest and Saint-Antoine Ouest).
Note : 2 rallies for the price of one by going to thr rally of Pétromont at 11:30am and ( two streets further) members of Cari-All at 1pm in front of la Caisse de dépôt et de placement du Québec. (Metro Place-d’Armes et Square-Victoria)
