Other News The members of Local section 712 ratified at 75% the offers of Compass
On October 18, 2011, the members of Local section 712 ratified at 75% the offers of Compass. These workers work at L3 Mas in Mirabel. The context of the negotiations was not easy following a significant decrease of the incomes of the company. “Sandra Brunet worked very hard by convincing the company not to touch the welfare benefits” said Claude Boisvert, Business Representative of District 11. The collective agreement was expired since January 2011.
The wages
increase are:
1st year 1 ½% And an amount of $500 will be given at ratification.

District 11 is proud to have given an amount of 13 357,58$ to the Mira Foundation
Following the 7th edition of its golf tournament, which took place on August 20, 2011 at the Chateau Bromont, Claude Boisvert, Business Representative and organizer of the tournament of District 11, is proud to have given an amount of 13 357,58$ to the Mira Foundation. The money raised is thanks to the participation of its 144 players also its sponsors The Mira Foundation is an non-profit making organization founded in 1981. Its objective is to increase the' autonomy of the handicapped people and to support their social integration in providing dogs developed and trained to meet their requirement in adaptation and readjustment. The services of the Mira Foundation are offered free to all the people who present one or more visual deficiencies, to the children of disorders invading of the development, of which autism. Since its creation, Mira gave more than 2.000 dogs. Each dog-guide and each assistance-dog-involves an investment of 30.000$ Mira does not receive any governmental subsidy and finance only gifts of the general public and incomes coming from various activities of financing. Thank you to all!
7th Edition District 11 Golf tournament a great success
Once again the District 11 Golf tournament was a great success. 144 golfers were very generous, they gave over $3000 at the Mira hold, thanks to our volunteers who worked very hard that day France and Ginette. We will give you the final count of the amount that will given to the Mira Foundation in a couple of weeks after counting all the money received and spent. Thank you for your great generosity. |
